Curry King

Curry King is a casual Hong Kong Style Cafe located on Kingsway that serves up a plethora of dishes, ranging from curries, to stone rice bowls, spaghetti, fried rice, congee and steak!
I went on a Thursday morning, right when they opened, so it was still empty haha.
Pork Belly Stone Rice Bowl
4/5 stars
You may be wondering why I didn't order curry at a place called Curry King. Well, the Pork Belly was just too enticing to pass up haha! Next time I'm definitely going to try their chicken curry!

I always decide what I order before I even get to a restaurant. I know I'm not the only one who does this right? Right? haha Turns out the pork belly stone rice bowl that I wanted to order was the first item on their extensive menu!
The stone bowl came out piping hot. I had to wait a good 20 mins before I could eat it without burning my tongue haha.
It was surprisingly good! It tasted homemade, like something your grandma would make for you. You have to mix the rice together with the sauce before eating it. It wasn't overly salty, and the flavours were rather simple. The chinese radish gave the dish a slight sour undertone. The pork belly was succulent, moist and flavourful. The lean to fatty meat ratio was even. The rice on the bottom gets crispy and fragrant, which is the best part about stone bowls!
HK Style Cream Soup
3/5 stars
The meal also came with complimentary HK style Cream Soup! The soup had dices of ham and corn in it. It was very creamy and thick, and didn't taste watered down. Standard, but yummy nonetheless!
Definitely trying some of the Special's next time!
Here's a look at their menu!
