MaxNoodle House - Famous Wonton Noodle Soup!

MaxNoodle House is run by the Mak family, famous for their wonton noodle soup in Hong Kong. A lot of people even hail them as having the best wonton noodle soup in the world!
Their Richmond location is appropriately located on Alexandra Road, also known as Eat St! They were previously named McNoodle but changed their name to MaxNoodle. The "Mc" in McNoodle evokes an image of Mcdonalds *shudders*. MaxNoodle isn't exactly fitting either, as their portion sizes are tiny! Wouldn't MiniNoodle be more appropriate? hahaa

MaxNoodle no doubt has some of the best wonton noodle soup outside of HK. The noodles are the perfect texture, and have bite. The noodles soaks up a ton of flavour from the broth, which is lightly seasoned and isn't too salty. The bowl came with about 6 pieces of wonton. The shrimp wontons are easily some of the best I've ever had. They're super juicy, moist, and burst with flavour when you bite into them! However, for $7.50, the portion size was disappointing, as it was ridiculously small. However, it's definitely quality over quantity here and I've learnt to appreciate that.

I had to order a side of Chinese Doughnuts to fill me up. They were decent value at $1.50. The chinese doughnuts were of the crunchier variety and they were really tasty! They weren't too greasy and were full of flavour.

Note the chopsticks in the background: they package their regular non disposable chopsticks in a paper wrapper emblazoned with "MaxNoodle House." It's a nice touch, but unnecessary in my opinion because it wastes paper.

If you're ever in Richmond, MaxNoodle is a definite must try! I've heard that their congee is delicious too so I'm definitely going to try that next time! :D
