Milestones - New location!

I can't believe I've never been to a Milestones...ever lol! So when I was invited to their grand opening media event, I was super stoked! Their newest location is in Surrey, in Guildford Town Centre! The first time I went to GTC I was actually really impressed at how nice it was lol, not bad for a suburban mall! This Milestones is a bit hard to find, it's located on the second floor of Guildford Town Centre on the outside in a separate building, right beside the huge forever21!
I got to meet a few other bloggers, Mary Sheridan from MaryinVancity, and the team from MePlusFood! It was so awesome meeting you guys!! I'm reallyy awkward you person eh? ;) I'm definitely so much cooler on the internet!! (isn't everyone?) LOL
I decided to bring along my dad LOL as my +1, since he pretty much eats chinese food (read: dim sum) 95% of the time so I thought it was about time he diversified his palate!
Disclaimer: Even though the meal was complimentary, like always, I only give my honest opinion and the fact that this meal was free changes nothangg! :D It may look like alot of food but I wasn't even that full at the end ;)
I got my own nametag hehe!! My dad even had one!
Chef Choice Canapes

Crab Ball
4/5 starsThis was awesome! I could definitely eat a few of these haha! Thankfully I was warned that these were piping hot on the inside, and that saved me from a burnt tongue, which would have ruined my night! The exterior panko crusted shell was super crunchy and very well seasoned (albeit salty as a result.) The inside was soft with bits of crab inside!
Here's a peek inside!
3.5/5 stars
I don't remember the names of the drinks lol, but what I do know is that this was really good!! It didn't taste like an achoholic drink at all. It was really fizzy and tasted like cucumber, and reminded me of pop lol (wow I sound like a kid)
2/5 stars
This tasted like tomato! The rim was salted which paired really well with the tanginess of the tomato. Again, it was a bit like drinking tomato juice haha.
3.5/5 stars
This was yummy too! The cream cheese on top really accentuated the flavours of the meat! The bread was really crunchy and had a nice snap to it!
3/5 stars
Cold sashimi thing (I'm such a professional food blogger) ;)The flavours of the tuna, sesame seeds, sesame oil, green onions worked really well together! Love how the mushiness of the tuna paired with the crunchiness of the cracker!
2/5 stars
The salmon had a definite hit of smokiness to it with some sour cream! The salted chip was nice with a hint of spice.
Ahi Tuna Tataki
4/5 stars
Seared ahi tuna, fennel, argula, served with a mandarin orange vinaigrette! This was so yum!! Nicely seared, tender, and the accompanying sauce was delish! It was tangy, sweet, and savoury all at once, with notes of citrus!
Salad
3/5 stars
This was really refreshing and went well with the flavours of the tuna tataki! It had a light citrusy based dressing, and was decorated with some pretty strings on top!
Spicy Thai Basil Noodles
3.5/5 stars
A more "westcoast" take on pad thai! The noodles were al dente, they didn't stick together, and there was a ton of ingredients! It was really well seasoned, with tender pieces of pepper spiced chicken, and big juicy pieces of shrimp!
Tomato Sugo Halibut
4/5 stars
The fish was crusted on the outside, and perfectly tender and flaky on the inside. The spicy sauce added just the right amount of spiciness, without being too overwelming. The fish sat on a bed of fluffy quinoa, which paired really well with the fish!
Filet Mignon
4/5 stars
This was super tender!! They didn't ask us how done we wanted it but it was served at a perfect medium rare! Paired with a deep red wine jus, this was delicious! The crispy chip flakes on top was a nice touch!
Dat meat tho ;)

Garlic Mash Potatoes
3.5/5 stars
This was super garlicky, and left a strong garlic aftertaste in my mouth haha! Regardless, it was really creamy and smooth!
Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Pudding
3.5/5 stars
Time for dessert hehe!! This was served in a super adorable mini jar with a clasp! The whip cream on top was coconut based, rather sweet, and dusted with coconut shreds! There was pudding overflowing on the sides on top of the banana bread! The chocolate chip banana bread was made out of dark chocolate chips, it was subtly sweet, and really soft! Definitely a really satisfying way to end a meal!
