Lido Restaurant - Richmond

I was craving some good ol' Cantonese comfort food yesterday so my dad suggested we check out Lido, which is located right beside Aberdeen and Parker Place! This place gets HECTIC during meal hours so finding a parking spot is a complete pain in the arse LOL. Well...we are in Richmond afterall ;D
Most of the parking spots have a 30 min limit so you have to wait until one of the 1 hour ones open up. Or you can always park across the street in the Aberdeen parking lot and walk over haha. Lido is probably one of the busiest HK cafes I've ever been to in Van/Richmond!

I blogged about this place ages ago when I first started blogging, which you can read here: http://www.vancitynoms.com/2013/12/lido-restaurant-excel-centre.html
I wonder if they read my post LOL, because I mentioned that their cups/plates were really dirty, and they were soo much cleaner this time! If you compare the pictures from my old post to this one, the difference is really noticeable!

Lido has a HUGE menu, I'm talking 5 separate pages, and that's not counting all the promotions on the walls! Some of the menus aren't in English, so having someone who can speak/read chinese would definitely be really helpful!

This place is always busy, and there's usually always a lineup during brunch hours! You have to leave your name with them in order to get a seat! The tables clear up pretty fast, because it's is pretty much an eat and get out type of place haha! There was a huge lineup at the door when we went and we ending up waiting 20 mins for a spot to open up.

Japanese Style Pork Chop & Chicken Steak 3 Item Combo $12.50
Pork Chop: 3.5/5 stars
Chicken Steak: 2/5 stars

I wasn't sure what "Japanese style" actually referred to haha...but turns out it just meant that the chops were glazed in a sweet teriyaki sauce! The pork chop was surprisingly tasty, tender, and charred at the edges. The chicken steak was pretty meh, it was a bit hard and difficult to chew.

Beef Brisket & Tendon
3/5 stars
This was okayy, the beef brisket pieces were a little dry, but the tendon was pretty good! The sauce it was sitting in was really watery but flavourful with a beefy punch! This was actually quite a substantial amount, and probably enough to suffice as one meal!

HK Milk Tea
3.5/5 stars
Solid HK Milk Tea! Lido's has the milk:tea ratio down pat! It's not insanely bitter, but it doesn't taste watered down either! Really creamy and smooth!

Russian Borscht
2/5 stars
This was alrightt, I've definitely had better russian borscht. Not tomatoey enough and a bit too watered down in taste for my liking!

Boh Lo Bao
4/5 stars
This is what they're famous for!! Almost every table had one, and after watching more than a dozen pass by our table, my dad caved and ordered one LOL! The pineapple buns here are glorious LOL. Best in Richmond, imo! Not only do they look good (not deformed/squished) they taste awesome too!! Their buns are super pillowy and soft, and the top crust is perfectly sweet and crunchy!

  1. Is the Beef Brisket & Tendon part of the three item combo which also includes the Pork Chop & Chicken Steak ? Just asking, since it's not specifically mentioned in your write-up. Looking at the bowl of brisket on the plate, it seems quite small ?

    1. Yep, it's included in the combo! The bowl of brisket wasn't very large but if you ate it with rice you'd probably still end up full haha!
