Taipei Day 6 - Steak Buffet & Yosinoya
On Day 6 we rode the bus/MRT all over town running errands!! I actually like riding the bus a lot more because you get to see the city as opposed as being trapped underground in a subway haha! And it’s super cheap! It’s only like 15NT per person which is like 50 cents! :D
I’ve been craving steak for daysss LOL. Taiwanese style steak!! I was in dire need of a slab of meat on a sizzling iron plate ;D
I went to Noble Family Steak House a few times with my parents the last time we were in Taipei, so we decided to make a revisit to another one of their locations!
What’s awesome about Noble Family Steak House is that if you order one of their steaks, a buffet is included in the price!! And the steaks are all only around $10 CAD each!! Talk about a steal!! hehe. Sure, it’s not top of the line meat, but hey for the price, I’m not complaining! ;) We ate dinner at Yosinoya, which I use to go to all the time with my dad whenever I visited Taiwan!! Yosinoya is a Japanese fast food donburi chain similar to Donburiya in Van! We would always order the same thing haha, their pork donburi w/ iced tea! This time we decided to branch out and try something different! :D
Their buffet is included with any of their steak meals!! :D
Rib Eye Steak
Wow, this thing was huge and super thick! I asked for medium well done, and medium well done it was! It was still really tender, and moist, and charred on the outside! Overall, pretty decent for the price that I had paid!
Some mini desserts!
They even had a make your own toast station!
DIY Shaved Iced!!
For dinner we went to Yosinoya!
They have their menu posted on the wall outside! :D
Pork Curry Don
I had the pork curry don, which comes with their signature pieces of soft pork with some japanese curry on the side! The curry tasted like your typical glico japanese curry, but it was actually a bit bitter, and slightly spicy. The pork here is my fav!! It’s sliced super thin and it has the perfect balance of fatty/lean pieces!
Sweet Teriyaki Chicken Don
The sweet teriyaki chicken don was actually glazed in a sweet & sour type of sauce! The chicken pieces were semi tender and moist, pretty decent! It also came with some steamed veggies on the side!
Our combo also came with a side order of fried fish! Later that night I swear I saw the exact same pieces at the night market LOL! The exterior panko batter was crispy and not laid on too thick, and the fish was decent, moist and soft!
This was passable, it tasted a bit too watered down though because there wasn’t enough miso in it.
This was a pretty decent rendition! The egg custard was nice and smooth, and it had a smoked, woody flavour from the mushroom!
Our combo also came with some lipton iced tea! :D
