Sweet Obsession Cakes & Pastries
So what's a girl to do? Ride the bus in search of dessert of course!! So after strolling around Kits and eventually settled on Sweet Obsession ~ a cute little patisserie in the residential area of Kits!!
I went all out and got 2 desserts - fantastic for my waistline I know. So after downing 3 consecutive desserts, a lemon tart from Au Comptoir, a St.Honore, and cheesecake from Sweet Obsession...I was on a sugar high for the rest of the day - Which totally helped me get through my 3 hour class at 6 pm!! ;)
Sweet Obsession is known as one of the best places for dessert in Kits!! It's a little bakery/coffee shop and the neat thing is, there's table service!!
I had SUCH a hard deciding what I wanted to get. There were so many dessert choices - it was mind boggling - especially for indecisive people like me! There were like 30 types of cakes to choose from!! :D
St.Honore $6.50
1.5/5 stars
To my disappointment - the entire thing tasted stale!! Yea, I wasn't that impressed. It looked so pretty in the display, too bad the taste wasn't reflective of that! The entire thing tasted really stale and dry. On the plus side it wasn't too sweet, and the chocolate flavour was really strong. But I just couldn't get past how cold/hard the pastry was! Really bummed since this was almost $7!!
NY Cheesecake w/ Blueberry Sauce $6.50
3.5/5 stars
Thankfully this was a lot better!! The cheesecake was smooth, cheesy, and really enjoyable! It wasn't too sweet and there was a nice balance of cheese!! The graham crust was soft and flavourful, and added to the flavour of the cake!! The size was just right, not too large, but not tiny either!
Blueberry Sauce
4/5 stars
I was pretty impressed by the sauce! It had real, whole chunks of blueberries in it, which I wasn't expecting!! It tasted like fresh blueberries, and had a wonderful tartness to it! It wasn't too sweet and the consistency was just right! :D
