Waffle House

I love hanging with old people. No really, I really do ;)
Old people are so sweet...well most of them are ^^ Waffle House is a local favourite, and it's always packed with seniors! I love going to family run businesses like this ~ they're just so cute!! Brings you back to a simpler time.
The place was bustling when we arrived for brunch on Saturday! When the waffles came, we were shocked at how much butter they gave us ~ the waffles were served with two ridiculously ginormous wads of butter, in all of it's calorific glory. My mom did up eating all of the butter (three wads in total) You see where I get it from?
After brunch we walked around for a bit, and to our surprise, there was a Farmer's Market (and a few food trucks) set up near Royal City Centre!! So we bought a gluten free pumpkin scone from a local bakery stand for "dessert" :D
There was a little old lady handing out lollipops at the front and you know what she said to me? She patted me on the back and said: "Here's a sweet for a sweet girl!" Seriously, can she get any cuter?!! And the lollipop was organic harhar
Classic Waffle - Waffle House Special
THAT BUTTER THO!!
Mom's Rating: 4/5 starsTHAT BUTTER THO!!
My mom had the classic waffle which came with my house special, and since that wasn't filling enough for her, she also ordered a french toast!!
The waffle was light and fluffy, and a bit crispy around the edges. The other thing she didn't like was that it was served a bit lukewarm, but other than that, it was fine. The pancake had a subtle sweetness to it and tasted really light!
2 sausages, 2 strips of bacon, 2 eggs - Waffle House Special (came with waffles!)
Sausages: 4/5 stars
Hash: 2/5 stars
I wasn't particularly hungry that day, so I just went with something basic! This also came with a waffle, which I gave to my mom!!
The sausages were surprisingly delicious. They were moist, flavourful, and not gummy at all!! The bacon strips were average, a little over fried. The eggs were how I requested! The hash browns were just okay, it wasn't crispy and was served lukewarm. No complaints really for a simple breakfast like this!
French Toast
Mom's Rating: 3.5/5 stars
The french toast was decent! It wasn't overly oily, and the bread was moist and fluffy. It had a distinctive egginess to it. Probably similar to something you would make at home. Still pretty good nonetheless!! The powered sugar on top was nice and added a bit of sweetness.
Stash Earl Grey $2
4/5 stars
Stash never disappoints!! I use to buy the individual boxes from Whole Foods all the time. The earl grey was very good, very strong. I love how it came in a cute mini pot!!
Seriously, how cute is this place?!
